CHIPMUNK AND VOLE CONTROL, TREATMENT, AND PROGRAMS
Servicing
Mahoning County – Trumbull County- Columbiana County
It is hard to imagine that something so small can be so destructive. However, there is always a solution for your problem.
Voles are active all year long and do not hibernate. They also are active during the day and night. Voles are rarely seen because they live in tunnels and complex burrow tunnels under the lawn surface. They construct numerous underground burrows and tunnels (1″ to 2″ wide) normally ranging within a one-forth acre area. This is where they nest, find protection, and feed on the vegetation under the Earth’s surface. The vole lives in colonies consisting of adults and young.
Vole damage is seen when vole populations are high. Vole damage includes: gnawing of trees, destroyed vegetable gardens, damage to lawns by tunneling and runway systems, tearing up mulch in flower beds, and clean, round holes in the lawn around 1.5″ in diameter.
Voles are a rodent, so they carry the same risk of transmitting diseases as the more common rodents like mice and rats. Voles can spread more than 35 diseases. These diseases can be spread to humans directly, through handling of live or dead rodents, through contact with rodent feces, urine, or saliva, and through bites. Diseases carried by voles can also be spread to humans indirectly, through fleas, ticks, or mites that have fed on an infected voles. Although, due to the fact that voles are rarely seen and there is little to no interaction with humans, the chances of any transmission is extremely rare.
Every case is different. Using a professional is the key to a successful treatment, that is why Structural Pest Management is here for you.

Evidence of Voles
The type of damage voles do to your yard is unique so you should not have an issue telling the difference from mole and gopher damage. Voles create a system of tunnels that help them travel through your yard in search of food. From your view point, the tunnels will look like crevices or cracks in the surface of your lawn. You will also notice holes throughout your yard if you have voles. They create golf ball sized holes where they enter and exit the tunnels. The combination of the vole runs and holes can cause harm to your lawn and be difficult to walk through on foot.
Structural Pest Chipmunk And Vole Program
Structural offers two different programs for voles. An initial which includes 3 visits every 3-5 days. The other option you have is a seasonal baiting which includes bait stations and monthly visits.
On the first visit David will perform a complete inspection around your structure to locate all chipmunk or vole burrows, he will then measure the lineal feet around your structure.
This program is for the chipmunk or vole activity around your structure.
David will then fill out a graph indicating all activity and bait the targeted areas your program will require follow-up visits about 3-5 days later which include monitoring and closing all tunnels to assure complete control. Please note that because this pest continually forage for new territory, expert deems complete control as 90 %.
Seasonal Baiting Program (April- October)
Because of higher infestations of chipmunk or voles we offer a Seasonal Baiting program where we will come out on a monthly basis between the months of April thru October.
The benefit to the seasonal baiting is that expert comes out monthly and monitors the bait stations to help reduce re-infestation and provide long term control.
On the first visit David will place bait stations around the structure, not to exceed 6 ft in the active areas.
Each following month David will inspect and replace the bait as needed for continual control.
IN THE EVENT, THE INSPECTION CONCLUDES THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT CHIPMUNKS/VOLES, THERE WILL BE A $100 INSPECTION FEE. HOWEVER, IF YOU ACCEPT THE NEW SERVICE THAT STRUCTURAL OFFERS FOR THAT PEST, THE FEE WILL BE CREDITED TOWARDS THAT SERVICE.
This program will not cover cockroaches, wood- boring, flying, pharaoh ants or biting insects.
