CARPENTER BEE CONTROL, TREATMENT, AND PROGRAMS
Servicing
Mahoning County – Trumbull County- Columbiana County
It is hard to imagine that something so small can be so destructive. However, there is always a solution for your problem. They could hollow out the wood of your structure.
Carpenter bees make nests by burrowing into wood, bamboo, and similar hard plant material, all usually dead. They vibrate their bodies as they scrape their jaws against the hard wood. Each nest having a single entrance which may have many neighboring tunnels. The entrance is often a perfectly circular hole measuring about 16 mm on the underside of a beam, bench, or tree limb. Carpenter bees are timber pests, and cause substantial damage to wood if infestations go undetected.
Every case is different. Using a professional is the key to a successful treatment, that is why Structural Pest Management is here for you.

Evidence of Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are nuisance pests in most cases, but they can cause considerable structural damage. Fine sawdust caused by the adult bees excavating during the spring will normally be found lying on the ground beneath the nest entrances. Repeated boring may result in unsightly stains caused by falling bee urine and feces around the entry hole. Homeowners often notice a buzzing or burrowing sound coming from within the wood this time of year. The excavating bee will bore directly into the wood for about an inch, then turn sharply at a 90 degree angle usually along the grain of the wood. Normally, the tunnels will extend about four to six inches. If the bees repeatedly use these tunnels, some have measured up to 10 feet long.
Carpenter bees are notorious for causing massive and expensive amounts of damage to any structure they nest in.
